Laureen + Colum Engaged
Wednesday, January 6, 2010
Laureen and Colum were the winners of our engagement shoot during the Brooklyn Pop-Up Wedding Series/Brooklyn Bride raffle a few months ago, and instead of just taking traditional portraits I thought it would be fun to invite Natalie and Indira from éventus Planning to work together with me and style the shoot.
It took place around the West Village/Meatpacking District, which is one of my favorite neighborhoods in the city for portraits because the cobblestone streets make a great NYC backdrop, and the Highline and the Hudson River are gorgeous at sunset. You rarely see flowers in engagement photos so Indira designed a casual bouquet for Laureen while we walked through the Highline. By far the most fun part of the shoot was the lovely picnic that the girls from éventus set up for us on the Westside Piers. Check it out below!
